The original looks a bit like a watercolor itself. And that may be why the
output of Dynamic Auto Painter looks better than anything I've tried. You're
feeding it the equivalent of filet mignon, where my shots are more like dog
food.
I suspect though that it helps for the picture to not be especially "busy".
Your recent cucumber tendril would probably look better than the Swiss Mountain
Chapel when run through the watercolor effect.

I'm playing with Dynamic Auto Painter, software that takes a photograph and
turns it into a painting. I've always been a frustrated artist and I love some
of the results you can get with this software. It's infinitely variable, but
you can also just hit Go and the program makes all of the choices.
I tried doing a watercolor with one of my old scans.

It's fun just to watch the program work. It starts from scratch and bases the
