I'm anxiously looking forward to reading your comments as you usually have
the answer or something close enough to use as a basis for solving a problem.
I did try shooting in RAW and then editing to SQ afterwards as was
suggested earlier, and the results were again exactly the same. This cannot be
a deeply guarded secret. The one page I mentioned earlier demonstrating IR
photography with the E-510 tells me beyond doubt that this is a simple matter.
And yet, whatever online resource I look at they all say the same thing, which
is to just select the desired filter emulation and shoot away. Something
somewhere is obviously missing.
This is turning out to be much like the vast multitide of self-help books
that overflow bookstore shelves everywhere. Lots of anecdotal tales about how
wonderful it would be to do something, and no content as to how to do it.
People get rich writing books like that. I thought of writing one on how to
divorce yourself from the dependence on self-help books, but the idea was
rejected as there was no opportunity for a sequel.
