Old Yard Power. BNSF Rail yard, Creston, Iowa. 6 image stitch with the
Panasonic DMC-L1 and OM Zuiko 100/2.8 lens. Original image (this one
is resized to 2400 when you open the large version) is 9500 pixels
wide.
Exposure was probably about F8 at 1/8 and ISO 100.
Camera was in the vertical orientation to provide maximum vertical
pixel coverage. The cropped and corrected version is 9498x2493 in
size.
I was bugged by the sag in the original image posted. I thought that I
had some weird optical thing going on or that Photoshop's merge
algorithm did something strange. But then as I was looking at the
rails in other shots that did and did not have the passing train
behind, I realized that the weight of the engines had caused the rails
to slump down, hence the sag in the middle of the image.
