I'm a bit tardy in replying to this, but that shouldn't diminish the
relief in hearing that you are almost fully recovered. Not to detract from
your circumstances, but many years ago I had a similar incident that had me
chair-bound for three weeks. In the process of getting up from one of my
"kneeling" chairs, my left foot hooked on the frame and I stumbled, landing
squarely on the foot, which resulted in stretching every muscle and ligament
from the ankle downwards. I may have temporarily displaced a couple of bones.
The foot and ankle quickly swelled to twice their size. A friend came
over and prepared an herbal bath and a tea to speed the healing. In a couple
of days the area turned a deep purple colour, and I feared that I would never
be able to walk properly ever again. I spent two weeks sitting in a chair with
my foot in that bath, and it took three weeks before I was able to put my full
weight on that foot, and even then it was wrapped tightly with an Ace bandage.
I still use those "kneeling" chairs as they are good for the back muscles
since you cannot slouch. But, I'm much more mindful when I get up from one so
that I do not repeat the injury.
So, you can see that from my own experience I have great sympathy for what
you have been going through.
