Somewhat attenuated? Is that Commonwealth Understatement? <g> In my world,
sympathy is non-existent. The best I can hope for is “I’m sorry you don’t feel
well. Hope you get better soon.” (Said with a decided lack of sincerity.)
Nurses as a rule are loving, caring and compassionate creatures, much as I’m
sure God intended all of us to be. And yet when it comes to taking care of
their own hypochondriacal, malingering husbands . . . sigh. <g>
