Again, I seem to have deleted the original post (but it's not in Trash).
I enjoyed flipping through the photos, Moose, and I recognised some. I have a
mono version of the rising road as one of my desktop photos, along with a
couple of Bob's shots.
Ooooh! How nice. I'll take one to two against Bob. :-) It was color for the book, picking up, I thought, the color of
the marsh in the rain a few minutes before, and the color of the sunset not much later.
Sky seems to figure quite often in your non-abstract shots, and I do like the
majesty that you portray.
I hadn't thought about that. I can see why in a couple of ways. It's a relatively low island, the mountains are just
nice hills where I come from*, and it IS an island, so sky and sea are very much part of the place.
Then there's the selection process. I wanted to stay away from many generic shots of famous spots, crashing surf, pretty
flowing streams and little waterfalls, and so on. And I stayed away from the many wonderful fungi, of all sorts of
shapes and colors that I've photographed there, and flowers (Wonderful public gardens!), caterpillars, butterflies,
bugs, and so on.
I meant to stay more intimate, but some of those images at sunset, sun, clouds, mist, silhouettes - I just couldn't
resist. And they are a magical part of my personal island experience.
Desert Moose
* I like to think this shows they have a sense of humor about it, although I"m not sure. This is the real name on maps.
