Leica is targeting two niches. There are people such as Mike describes and those like Tina, for whom they are
specialized tools worth the money.
To lower their prices, even on a camera like the 'T', is to risk descent into another marketplace, where they would have
to compete on price and features. As long as they are financially successful with their high status, high price, low
volume strategy, it would be very risky to change.
It would also be difficult to accomplish physically, as mass manufacturing is very different from what they do now -
another risk.
