Late last night we were treated to a total lunar eclipse, one where the
moon does not enter into Earth's umbra but instead the penumbra, leaving the
moon a reddish colour during totality, hence the name "Blood Moon". Here's a

All taken with the E-510 with the Samyang 100-500/5.6 lens. Exposure time
was 1 second, which was a bit slow but a little post processing gamma
adjustment returned the colour to a more natural hue. Longer exposure time
made the photos appear to be even more OOF.
I'm surprised that the lens did this well, and I had hoped that the
Quantaray 500mm bazooka lens I bought late last week would have arrived so that
I could try it out during this event. It has less glass and is almost a
refractor telescope with a camera mount.
