Ah yes, I stayed there once ages ago. It was then simple, clean, cheap, and 
thus what we wanted for a stopping place on 
our way back from the real high country down south. Nowadays, we look for 
campgrounds and RV places.

I'm thinking we ate there, too, but memory is weak...

The bears in Yosemite Valley will simply pull the doors off.

I've asked rangers in a few places, and none are aware of bears attacking RVs, 
even relatively small ones. None had an 
explanation, either. (Certainly some years ago, they didn't bother us in our VW 
camper, while tearing apart coolers in 
other camps.) I've wondered if it is because of the other smells of human 
occupation, including indoor potties.

I was surprised when I saw the bow hunting trophy on the wall of friends in 
Maine. I thought it must be a cub, 
apparently not. Adult bears in the Sierra go from big to bigger. Not inherently 
mean, as I understand Grizzlys to be 
often, but sheer size and strength make them dangerous.
