I used to practise that, but many years ago I thought it foolish to do so
and I resorted to OED English.
I once had an eBay seller tell me that he had to charge me extra for
shipping. Because I used the spelling "colour" he immediately thought that I
lived in Canada despite the Arizona mailing address.
