I bought a traffic receiver add-on for my TomTom GPS recently from an
Amazon merchant.
He told me two interesting things:
- he pays Amazon 20% of the sales price (he didn't go into detail
about how sales prices of £0.01 and big p&p charges are handled but
I'm sure Amazon are wise to that)
- he's not allowed to advertise the same item on his own website at a
different price from what he offers it via Amazon.
Seems like they have the merchants by the short and curlies.
