When I was young I was foolish and invincible.  Now I'm old and know 
that I'm no longer invincible but still a bit foolish.  I nearly did 
myself in a last fall when a ladder slipped out from under me.  By good 
luck it only dropped about a foot before it got stopped by a ridge of 
grass and mud.
