Use the luminance noise reduction in ACR. That will give you (as you
don't like) a smooth looking image as the noise is canceled. Then open
the smoothed image in PS and go to the filter pulldown and select noise
|add noise and choose a guassian distribution and a value of about 5-6%
or whatever appeals to you. If you see color speckles in the noise
change the image mode from RGB to B&W.
