Indeed, and I think most of the small towns have a similar layout--a real
'centro' that's pedestrian friendly; sit down, have a sip and bite, talk,
listen, watch. I'd like to live there too (Sestri, in particular), but
probably after I retire and Italy's economy hasn't grenaded itself to
bits.

Lucca is a bit different that most small towns, because the place Tina
showed us is perfectly elliptical and is based on the old Roman
anphitheatre. I think that Lucca is one of the prettiest town ever, not
only in Italy.
