I predict you will be wrong. :) I even found the 40 a tad wide and my wides on
the Canon (a 35 and a 20-35) are only rarely used. I have had an erratic orbit
over the last 25 or so years, but I always come back to the 50. If I look back
it's where I do my best and have improved most (relative only to myself), and
this is congruent with how I feel when using it.
TL;DR: I'm a 50 kinda guy.

New the price wasn't bad either (significantly cheaper than the X-E2). It's
only a preference for size (away from a Canon 5DMkII & lenses) that took me
away from it. But if I ever started all over...
