A friend of mine from the theatre, Mary, posted on Facebook this
afternoon that she needed someone to take a quick portrait of her.
She's a well-traveled, published photographer on her own. And she and
her husband manage a tattoo parlor. Apparently one of the industry
magazines was doing a small feature on their parlor and asked for a
photo of her to go along with it. So, she was stuck either with trying
to shoot a selfie, or ask for help.
I messaged back that I'd be happy to help if she still needed me, and
she said she did. I shot a bunch and sent them all to her to chose from
(I sent her the ORF files since she also uses Lightroom and can do her
own post). This is my favorite of the bunch. It was done in ambient
light with the E-M5 and the 20/1.7. If I had to do it again, I'd
definitely use the FL-50 with the Fong salad bowl off to the side to add
a little punch. As it is, it will suit the purpose which is to show her
at her desk.
Tattoos are not my thing, but I recognize the artistry and I know
several people who have them.
