this was Arpi, Barcelona in the good old days, now derelict.
I bought a ZD 50-200 and the 7-14 I used for that test shot from them - great
stuff! and Alice had got her E510 on the same day ;-)

Sujet : [OM] Camera Heritage Museum, was: Nathan's PAD 29/1/2014: two Brussels
landmarks
Probably the reason it looks like a camera store is that it used to be a
camera store. From their "about" page: "The camera museum is housed in
what was known for 40 years as the Camera and Palette store at 1 W
Beverley St. Staunton, VA." I believe the operator of the museum is the
now retired proprietor of the former camera store. If you look up the
address on Google street view it will leave you in front of sign on the
side of the building with the original store name. You have to move
left into the intersection to see the front of the building.
Most of the gear in the museum comes from the donation of two large
collections. They also accept much smaller donations. If he gets
duplicates he selects the best in terms of cosmetics (most don't work or
work well) and attempts to sell the rest to keep the place solvent.
Just down and across the street a short distance is a very interesting
bank which I was told was a place I should stop and take a look. I
walked in with my camera and asked if it was OK for me to take pictures
inside. The answer was: yes, and many others do too. Perhaps not of
much interest to Europeans but for Americans it's unusual to see a
small, local bank dating from 1865 and a fine example of the better
buildings of the time. I hope to post a few of those later.
