I’ve been to one pro game during my lifetime. <g> It was the 49ers and the
Falcons. Both were wretched teams at the time, but as I recall, OJ was playing
for the 49ers then.
Watching grass grow is more entertaining than sitting in a pro stadium. The
amount of time spent playing vs TV time-outs was outrageous. No wonder people
get drunk and crazy at games. (The _one_ thing I will give, ah, the rest of the
world’s football is that at least play continues for long stretches. Of course
I don’t care for the play, but at least it continues. <g>)
I suppose being a die-hard Green Bay fan or Patriots fan and attending games at
Gillette or Lambeau might be more fun. At least you’d be with all your die-hard
buddies in terribly inclement conditions—if you’re into that sort of thing.
Joan and I went to a Red Sox game at Fenway many moons ago. We had a really
good time because we had good seats just past third base. We drank beer and ate
hot dogs and laughed at a couple of really zany Sox fans sitting a few seats
down. But I haven’t exactly been hot to trot back down there and do it again.
