Reminds me of Thanksgiving 1971 when we spent the night stuck on I-81 in
Pennsylvania trying to drive from Virginia to upstate New York. We were
there from about 9-10pm until about 6:00am when a Pennsylvania state
plow cut a passageway from the northbound lanes over to the southbound
lanes so we could go south the the Pennsylvania Turnpike and try another
route north again. Total snowfall was about 2 feet (there was none when
we started out). The normal drive time was about 5 hours. That trip
took more than 23 hours. Sorry, no photos. :-)
