Excellent. We did the same thing, only at a much smaller market. A little farm
stand, actually, near the bridge at Wiscasset. They sell stuff from Maine only.
We bought some bacon that came highly recommended, some bell peppers,
strawberry and raspberry jam, and a pint of Scottish-style ale from a local
brewery that I had not been aware of. The nice lady bagging our purchases asked
if we wanted the drink left out of the bag. Mind you, it was 10 a.m. <g>
Joan and I had a long conversation the other night about switching from the
supermarket to local meat markets for meat products. She makes a convincing
argument that the fewer hands touching the product, the better off we all are.
I tend to agree. And the bacon looks marvelous. We're having it tonight, so
I'll let you know. Maybe I'll try the ale with it.
