Yes, but far more well known for his long career as journalist. He's been an
important figure in journalism for over 40
years.
His last TV series only announced it was ending last Oct 30th. His series of
interviews with Joseph Campbell is legendary.
An in-depth journalist, as opposed to daily, and quite liberal in politics,
although he would disagree. His series of
interviews, Faith and Reason, showed his more conservative religious side. Not
that he was negative to other views, but
in being even handed, he made clear where he came from and used the contrast
with some of his guests to elicit
responsive, rather than stock, discussion.
