Also to be fair I once bought a laser cart from an 'eco-friendly' cartridge
refill/refurbish specialist. Wasn't that much cheaper either but I fell for the
pitch and they had one in stock NOW! Bad decision - whatever it was they were
using would not fuse properly so every print smudged.
Now I just look for on-line deals on the new real thing.
Mine's a Brother 2142 and as an occasional teacher and shameless self-promoting
self publisher I'd knock out 2-4,000 prints per year. I kept the starter
cartridge as a back-up for when I run out unexpectedly and get a new one about
every 12-18 months. Having the back-up means that i have time to find a good
deal.
