Speak for yourself, Ken. :-)
Why do you think that the "standard" thread on enlarger lens boards of
the past was a Leica screw mount thread? The 50mm f/3.5 Elmar was used
by many, including myself as an enlarging lens, and did an excellent
job. Leica even made an attachment to make it more convenient to set
the aperture when mounted on an enlarger. Of course, I was not trying to
drive 500 watts through the lens! But for many small condenser
enlargers, it was fine. I had other options, but the camera lens was
used with no problems.
