Top two photos were from a concert I was invited to last night. The
musician had opened a show for me at Chicago Street, and we hit it off,
so he invited me to come to his CD release concert for his newest CD.
I was there with my little E-M5, with the OM Zuiko 50/1.2 hung out
front. Dialed max ISO up to 5000 (he was lit with a single flood lamp
with a yellowish gel on it... ugh.) A bit grainy, but perfectly happy
with the results.
I was severely annoyed at the other photographer who was there with his
big, 30lb "Professional" Canyon with a speedlight on it and some big,
honkin' lens. Mind you, this is a 50-seat basement listening room....
Anyhow, Mr. Professional Camera was shooting with THE DAMN FLASH TURNED
ON. I sat there, politely, with my tiny little toy OM-D and no flash,
and I'd be willing to be I got much better photos than he did....

In hindsight, I was kinda wishing I had brought the 100/2.8 so I could
get closer up on his face or perhaps his fingers when he was playing
some of the more intriguing stuff... but it was safely settled in on my
desk at home.
I could really use something in between 50 and 100, like a fast 75mm
prime....
C&C, as always, encouraged.
