Don't see your point. Those who earn, or have, pay income tax. Those who don't,
don't. Yes? You have a nation where 60% of the population are not in a position
to pay tax. That's a recipe for disaster. And of course, that one percent at
the top who control a massive proportion of the wealth are very good at tax
minimisation. Another difficulty. The weight of tax falls upon the shrinking
middle class and a substantial proportion of the working population are on
'minimum wage' which appears to be little more than a 'work for the dole'
scheme.
Not a healthy economy.
