Hackley School Administration Building. Crosses on Roof. Muskegon,
Michigan. The crosses on the roof were removed during the roof
renovation project about 20 years ago. I'm curious as to the origin of
them (may have been just snow/ice control), but the legend that we
were told was that they had a problem with pigeons at some time. As
the pigeons were being killed off, protesters erected a cross on the
roof for each one of them. Not likely, but there has to be a story
there. Hopefully somebody can enlighten me.
