It seems to be made to a higher standard than the mass of 500/8s. Look here,
and you will see its resolution is right up
there with the Oly 500/8, if not better. Actually even more betterer, if the
subject doesn't fill the frame, as it is
magnified more at that resolution.

OTOH, many shots are through a quite long bit of air, which reduces both
resolution and contrast.
The lower contrast really doesn't mean much in the day of the digital darkroom.
Quite a good lens.
I'm not sure I've yet used it with the E-M5. It doesn't exactly fit into the
light, small, kit paradigm. The 75-300
gives me a lot of reach, without resorting to tripod and MF. :-)
