IMHO, that's a dangerous strategy for any trip lasting more than 30 minutes.
If your car is reasonably airtight, it means that as long as you are breathing,
you are using up
the little amount of oxygen inside the car.
After a while you are likely to be breathing so much CO2 that you will become
sleepy, and
there's a good chance of an accident. And, No, I am not confusing carbon
dioxide with
carbon monoxide.
