Actually, It's something else that sends them out. Sex. It is what is called
for no apparent reason, "rutting" season, the farmer/hunter word of deer
making the beast with two backs, except they don't do it that way. That's
all they think about, including looking both ways before crossing.

The corn harvesting machines drive them out of the fields and onto the
