Thanks for looking Chris. I was surprised at how nearly equal in performance
the lenses
were, and the digital lens was not the best.
I'm not sure about the wisdom of turning IS off when using a tripod. Actually,
I should have
used shutter delay, but overlooked that
The 135 macro seemed to deliver sharper shots, even at f/45, than the others,
but it took
post-processing to deliver nearly acceptable sharpness of those parts of the
shot furthermost
from the camera.
I'm pretty sure I have a set of shots of a stellar distant avenue of Lombardy
poplars in autumn
colour, and the hand-held shots with IS on were distinctly sharper than the
tripod shots with
no IS.
Should go back and check what my comments to myself were at that time.
