Many places that provide wifi will limit it to web browsing (http) and
don't support pop and/or imap mail services. Probably just a dumb
out-of-the-box setting (some InfoSec expert will chirp up and correct me).
I only use web-mail when travelling (and 99% of the time at home too).
Glad you're enjoying yourself and hope the keeper rate is higher than you
anticipate!
