Rotan was right about the canard planform that he devised. Beechcraft
lost the ball when they decided to not streamline the nose and fuselage on the
Starship, and because of that there was little if any improvement in drag and
fuel efficiency. Sooner ot later there will be a commercial airliner based on
that concept. Boeing came close to doing it but opted to stick with the
traditional planform. I'm thinking that Airbus will try it as they are more
innovative.
