I am not particularly interested, but I do think Chris T and perhaps AG have
misread what it is.
The phone body is not part of the 'camera' The camera is a stand alone device,
with lens and sensor, separate from the
phone, but without external controls or screen of its own. An app on the phone
communicates wirelessly with the camera
to allow live view and control of the camera on the phone screen.
Sticking the camera to the phone body is simply a way to make the whole thing
make sense to the user. If I read it
right, one could also hold the camera in one hand, , put it on the ground, a
table, etc., pointing one way, and the
phone in the other hand, apparently pointing another way. Could be quite an
effective stealth camera.
Really a pretty slick idea, although, as you say, esthetically unappealing.
Although shown with a new Sony phone, it is claimed to work with pretty much
any smart phone.
