Where is A. Profiled Moose? Didn't realize he is one the loose again.
I am almost positive he largely gave up on the Oly converter due to the
highlight recovery issue among others.
You are not the first to notice skin tones are rendered very well by
the OM-D
jpeg engine and that "Oly colors" can be difficult to obtain using
non-Oly
software. I don't think Oly unlike Can/Nyk provide any profile date to
Adobe.
There are obviously a myriad of variables contributing to a given
rendering of the raw data
such as tone curves, saturation, sharpening etc but a custom profile
can get one
within shooting distance. A quick search shows some have one for LR
for the E-3
as posted in a FT forum. It looked liked a tedious procedure but one
suspects this has been done.
I have to get our my files, but it involved shooting a target and
saving the profile as a DNG after matching the Oly shot as best
possible? That is also for DXO which I investigated to remove a
complex color cast easily with one of my macro lenses. .
DXO is a better converter than ACR for me for higher ISO with flash
for skin tones---much less work and true purples
and skin tones can be simultaneously rendered well and competent noise
reduction handled easily w/o extra work.
