Two cautionary notes on the 2-series screens:
1. The bokeh is not accurate because of the microprism mesh design of
the "matte" screen. It'll give you a good representation for most
styles of photography, but macro photography is going to be off. The
screen is actually clear, and consists of a field of super-small
microprisms. Nikon and Minolta corrected this by deforming the
microprisms, but at a loss of accuracy and light.
2. Because of the microprism "angles", it is a bit harder to focus
lenses at or near 35mm. You don't see the image defocus the same way
as it does with a 1-series screen.
Does this mean one shouldn't get the 2-series screens? Oh, certainly
not. The advantages of the screens far outweigh these two
disadvantages in almost every circumstance. I would suggest, however,
that the 1-4 screen remains my all-time favorite screen for
macro/flower photography.
