I've had no problems with either, Brian. I think that your computer and
Internet connection might be let Iess than ideal for the modern browser, but I
don't detect Safari's trying to call home; if it does, I'm sure that there is a
way to stop it.
And as for download sites, you are almost guaranteed to find a dodgy one if you
search for them . . .
