They've flogged off the clever stabiliser tech to Sony in exchange for
something or other but aren't you forgetting that their customary bedmate for a
long time now has been Panasonic?
Anyway, I never read too much into these things. One of the reasons for the
success of Japanese engineering companies over the second hafl of the last
century was their willingness to co-operate, share and trade technologies,
rather than compete at all costs.
