If I think a conversion is particularly good, I save it as a user profile, or
whatever saved settings are called. In any
case, I can then go back, reuse it, see what I did before and/or tweak it.

I suspect Chris meant a physical filter. You remember, those glass thingies
that screw onto the front of the lens.
