Okay, brace yourself. Over the past 24 hours a strong low pressure system
has evolved in the GFS plots that has the potential for widespread severe
weather across the southern half of the Great Plains. The cold front looks
like it will reach it's peak over Oklahoma on Wednesday. It's going to be
pressing against an area of high pressure centred over Georgia.
This storm has developed from a bubble along the jet stream just ahead of
the very large low pressure system that is going to keep us windy with below
average temperatures all of next week. This new development along the leading
edge simply does not look good at all. It was not depicted in yesterday's
plots.
