I agree Chuck, thanks for the comment.. And thank you all for your
comments.
I actually think I over-sharpened it a tad, so next day with decent light, if
there is one (today is a dead loss) I plan to use a couple of OM manual
lenses to see if I can get a sharper image.
The bowl is one made probably locally, and bought for me by my good lady
at the garbage recyclers. She picks up all kinds of nice things there, usually
for no more than $5.
It looked pretty grotty when it was handed to me - dusty and sticky through
being treated (oiled) with cooking oil probably. I gave it a careful quick wash
with warm (dishwash) detergent water, and to my surprise nearly 100% of
the crud came off just like that. After drying the outside ( the wood had
stayed dry) I oiled it with the only decent wood-polish oil - walnut oil.
I took the photo as I did in an endeavour to show both nuts and bowl to best
advantage. I was lucky with the light of the moment and choice of WB.
I still have not figured out what species of tree the wood is from ...quite
possibly apricot - but that's just a stab in the dark.
