I offer T45 rebuild service. I think John is too.
The most time consuming thing is cracking the case open. It was built
in a way to never be serviced. I can also add a hole for a
termperature probe to be inserted. I can also add a thermal sensor
inside the pack.
Why?
Because battery packs can be charged using the temperature shift as a
guide. This is important with the T45 because the charger is dumb
enough that if you put NiMh cells in it, it will just cook them to
death, possibly even being a fire hazard.
Instead of a temperature probe, I would recommend just checking by
touch every 15 minutes or so once it starts getting close to topped
off. When you feel it getting warmer, it's done.
