I took yet another wildflower and butterfly hike on Monday, and came away
with 221 photos. But, I only found one butterfly that would stay still long
enough to take some photos. Even so, I had to take them from a distance of six
feet or it would fly away. They didn't come out too bad, good enough to
identify it as a Sagebrush Checkerspot (Chlosyne acastus):

Through most of the hike I was followed by a pair of Giant Swallowtails
(Papilio cresphontes), and neither of them ever lighted so they could be
photographed.
