Yes - but. I understood his question to be whether the IQ is better one way or
the other.
I find it a moderately interesting question. Performance will decrease as it
moves in either direction from the design
optimum of 1:1. Adding two lens elements, even if perfectly designed to work
with the lens at 2:1, will also decrease
performance at least somewhat.
Who knows which is better, or where a crossover might be? I don't know the
answer, as I haven't done a direct comparison.
