Hum. Any of you beer junkies (Mike Gordon?) know if this is available
in the
US?
--Bob
It is very clear I am not a proper beer geek not having sampled a
"Westie 12." Not really available by the usual channels in the US
legally until about Dec 13, 2012 but suspect all of the "bricks" were
gone in a day or two but that means more is floating around and I would
bet some could be had looking at the beeradvocate forum or on
evil bay. According to the St. Sixtus website, the beer is brewed to
support construction at the monastery and they made this one-time
export exception. (thus "bricks" for 6 packs which seem to have gone
for $85.00 or so) The beer's importer, Shelton Brothers of Belchertown,
Mass. made some available at a speciality store in Belmont but I don't
like to wait in line.
Typical price is in the range of $1.10 a sip--not kidding. I am not
overly fond of quads but am willing to give it a go in this case.
Better for a few listees to meet Nathan at the Abbey, I think.
Just having returned from Utah and attempting to dig out at work, but
at some point will likely provide a
state of the state (beer) from Utah with images though don't expect
Nathan quality.
May find the Holy Grail someday but not likely find a Westie 12, Mike
