> Scariest place I ever lived in was Houston, TX.
Well, that was Texas, after all. It's a scary place. Strange people
live there and populate lists like this.
:)
To Tina's point, you might also want to check out the fine-print on
your insurance rider for the camera equipment. Years ago, I had an
inland-marine policy on my gear through State Farm. One particular
exception was that it didn't cover in a war zone. So, out of
curiosity, I asked if there were any "war zones" in the USA. Not sure
if they exactly determined it as "war zone", but there were two
exclusions in the USA: East LA and a several block area of Washington
DC.
I've been through Gary, Indiana and would confirm everything being
expressed about it. I had a girlfriend that started her teaching
career there. I think she was there for three years. She still wonders
how she survived that, but given that she was Yugoslavian, she could
hold her own ground pretty well and scare just about anybody.
She definitely scared me!
