For the first time in what seemed to be months, we finally had a clear
evening, so we headed out after sunset to try and see Comet PanSTARRS.
Honestly, if it wasn't for "an app for that", I probably wouldn't have
found it. In fact, it remained invisible to my human eyes. However,
not to the camera. I pointed the camera at the spot it was supposed to
be and amazingly enough, it showed up!
As the moon gets brighter, PanSTARRS will be harder to find or
photograph. It's a tough bird, for sure. I suspect that the spectral
breakdown of it is such that the human eye is not seeing it well, but
the camera is.
