Not quite that soon. Last year, we had a lot of rain, including fairly late,
and the green lasted into May, June some
places. Not everything turns brown, only the native grasses on the rolling
hills, which I find attractive, but I grew up
here. It does happen all the way from the eastern parts of the coastal hills
to the Sierra Nevadas.
Near the coast, summer fogs keep it cool and damp, and scenes like the redwood
creek BobA showed a bit ago are still
green and cool, with wild flowers all year. It doesn't turn brown where we are,
but it's only a 5+ min. drive East to
where it does.
We do need more rain to keep the green this year. Some coming Wed-Thurs, but
probably not much, then back to clear
weather in the low 70s-high 60s.
