Wonderful view, with perfect light and clouds.
Might you have overdone the sharpening a little? I can't imagine the D700 has
that kind of grain at ISO 560, but LCE and
sharpening will do that, especially giving the slightly odd look to the
noise/grain in the sky.
Another clue is the light halos on Staten Island, Lady Liberty, the
construction crane structure and various antennae.
If you limit those adjustments to the buildings, where they look good, I think
it would be an even better image.
I enjoyed the other recent shots in the US, too. Did the evil eye or the cold
fish eye win?
