This thread reminds me that "odd-ball" aperture numbers have been around, in
one form or another, for more than 100 years. I have a Ross-London brass
lens with Waterhouse stops, made around 1890, that has its own unique
numbering system. If I recall correctly, the largest stop equates to f/16.
