Chuck:
Manual focus is quite easy. However, I still don't trust the viewfinder for
focus. I pretty much always use "magnify" for fine tuning manual focus lenses.
I used my 50/1.4 when I went to the Aviation Museum. I tended to have it close
to wide open and the depth of field is not great. Everything that was in focus
was perfectly sharp.
The 135/3.5 tested out well on the E-1 (John Foster-Biofos). Haven't tried mine
because the dreaded plastic locking pin is broken. I've tried the Pen F 150/4
which is actually quite sharp.

I just tried the Zuiko 50/1.4 for myself. It's a revelation using it on the
E-M5 vs the 5D. Turn it to aperture preferred mode, focus and then... adjust
the aperture until you've got the shutter speed AND depth of field that you
want. There's no fear of a darkening viewfinder image as you close down since
the camera compensates by brightening the viewfinder. The bright viewfinder
also makes focusing perfectly easy when stopped down.
The one thing you do have to watch for is, with continually adapting image
brightness, there is no visible feedback on physical aperture. I finally
realized that the nice depth of field on a near focus image was nice because
the aperture was at f/16... way far into diffraction territory for the E-M5.
But if you like the image go for it. I guess I will have to learn to count
clicks.
I like it. Way easier than the 5D and with real-time feedback on what the
image will look like including depth of field. I may want to use an
f/1.4 for effect but I won't need it for focusing.
Lightweight 135/3.5 is sounding good. Maybe I should trade my 200/4 for a
200/5. My Orion 500/5.6 (mirror) should be fairly easy to work with also.
